Software Engineer (July 2015 – present)

  • feature development for Groupon’s order checkout system
  • worked remotely (from London for a Santiago-based team)

Groupon (Palo Alto, CA)

Mobile Web Engineer (Aug. 2011 – June 2015)
  • lead front-end developer for migration of legacy, country-specific mobile site (France, Germany, Italy, UK, etc.) to Groupon’s global API
  • feature development on US mobile site: global search, hotel bookings, nearby deals, etc.
  • lead front-end developer for migration of mobile site from Rails to Node.js
  • worked largely remotely (from Kyoto for a Palo Alto-based team)
  • Rails and Node.js stacks

Hoo Logic (Kyoto, Japan)

Software Engineer (Dec. 2008 – Aug. 2011)
  • one-person consulting company
  • designed and implemented a content management system for Xoom (editor, publisher, and interface to translation system)
  • full website implementations for a variety of international clients (CAREX Canada, Treasury Curve, etc.)
  • conceived and developed Real Kana and Real Kanji websites for learning Japanese; 3MM+ page views per month
  • produced accompanying Real Kana and Real Kanji iOS apps

Xoom (San Francisco, CA)

Software Engineer (Sept. 2005 – Dec. 2008)
  • Xoom is an international remittance company acquired by PayPal in 2015
  • sole front-end developer for approximately three years
